The US Embassy in Ukraine, and in particular, Law Enforcement Department (INL), is strategic partners of the State Border Guard Service in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The US Embassy members handed over 100,000 protecting masks, over 16,000 respirators, 2,700 protective overalls and more than 1600 eye protection goggles to the Ukrainian border guards. The total cost of the assistance is 3 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The received protection means will be distributed between the border guard units and the medical institutions of the department and will support the discharge of the official duties in safer conditions in the fight against the global pandemic.
Also, as previously reported, volunteers of the Kherson Community charity organization “Zakhyst” have handed a cargo of reusable protecting masks to the Kherson Border Guard Detachment.
The volunteers handed 770 reusable protecting masks, which were made by the “Aneles” garment factory craftsmen with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
First of all, these protecting masks will be provided for the military personnel who serve at the entry-exit check points at the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and also in the check points across the state border.
