Russia and China are responsible for 92% of the world’s misinformation about the coronavirus (COVID-19).

This opinion was stated to CBC media by Philip Howard, the head of the Oxford Internet Institute, – Ukrinform reports.

“A significant increase in misinformation spread by foreign governments, especially Russia and China, is in evidence”, he said.

He added that together Moscow and Beijing are responsible for more than 90% of the widespread misinformation about the coronavirus in the world.

“In fact, 92% of the world’s false information about COVID-19 comes from Russia and China”, mentioned Howard.

As explained by Ron Nehring, an international expert at the Leadership Institute in Washington, one still find tons of information in social media that has been published by Russians and has not been verified or correct.
